Roxana Marjorie Barrus is the founder of the beloved children's bedroom décor brand, "Roxy Marj". She has collaborated with Anthropologie, Fawn Shoppe, and Land of Nod to name a few. Back in 2015 she sold her IP to Land of Nod which has since turned into Crate & Kids. Some designs are still available on the Crate & Barrel website.
Roxy Graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2009 with a BFA in fashion and an emphasis in children's wear, but wishes she would have received her degree in illustration. This is where she decided to kill two birds with one stone and paint her illustrations on fabric, which resulted in some magical children's products.
Inspired by her Scandinavian roots (Swedish/Danish) her love of Folk Art and South Western Design. Roxy's aim is to create pieces that make you want to live in the world where her character's reside. She believes in a slow design process because this is what produces that heirloom quality she is seeking for her work.
Roxy lives in Northern Utah with her husband Jesse who is a fine artist, their son Sebastian and their dog Sid. Beyond her creative pursuits, her most cherished moments involve spending quality time with family and friends (especially those with a great sense of humor) and going on long walks.
